Belif Cosmetics

New skincare brands are always intriguing and an introduction to a brand without prejudice only adds to that.

I was given the chance to try a selection of products from the brand Belief. Belief is a sister company of the brand Napiers, who specialise in herbal formulas. Belief products are packed full of plant extracts and are meant to be ideal for use by those with sensitive skin.

Three products in particular grabbed my attention, the Hungarian Water Essence, the True Cream Moisturising Bomb and the First Aid Anti-Hangover Mask.

I expected the Hungarian Water Essence to be a spritz but it is actually dispense via a pump and is a very fluid clear serum. The essence contains Hungarian water, the secret ingredient that is said to have enabled Hungarian Queen Elizabeth to maintain her beauty into old age.

I apply this immediately after cleansing, it absorbs quickly and isn’t sticky. I then follow with the True Cream Moisturising Bomb, which is a light-weight moisturiser that like the essence absorbs quickly and is not sticky. It is also worth noting that my makeup applied well and lasted as long as usual.
The moisturiser is formulated to hydrate the skin while controlling and absorbing oil. I occasionally experience oiliness on my forehead and in the days I used this, I didn’t have this problem.

After only a few days of using the products I noticed a difference in the hydration of my skin. I am currently doing skin peels so my skin is drier than usual and the cold weather doesn’t help. The combination of the Water Essence and the Moisturising Bomb has kept dry patches and bay and my skin feels soft and smooth.
Sleeping masks are a new find for me — they are perfect as a treat when you are feeling a little lazy. The Anti-Hangover mask is an intensive overnight hydration treatment and also has anti-ageing properties, although I can’t comment on this after only one use.

Unfortunately the box I received is not available to purchase, which is a shame as it is a great way to decide what you like and don’t like from the brand. The products are on the expensive side, the moisturiser costs £25 for 50ml and the essence £26.50 for 75ml. If you are someone with dry skin they would be well worth the investment and a little does go a long way, but even those with oily skin would benefit from the balancing properties.

Belief Cosmetics can be purchased from the Napiers website and also includes products for men. Is there anything that has made it to your wants list?

  2. I've seen them in Singapore the last year, they opened shop but I don't believe its doing so well here. The packaging is not such an attractive point for many people here, it looks and sounds a bit cheesey but if it really does work its worth a go I guess! Thanks for the review!
